2026 Vibes

2026 Vibes

We call them Vibes not trends as not everyone wants to follow trends but might welcome Inspiration from what’s happening in the industry.

A trend isn’t just “something new” — it’s a pattern of behaviour, taste, or style that spreads through a group and gains momentum. What makes it a trend is not originality, but adoption.

You can read all about how trends work in our Trend blog here : TRENDY

Overall Vibe of 2026 Weddings

  • Personal, expressive & meaningful

Couples are telling their story through design, fashion and guest experiences.

  •  Comfort & experience over strict tradition

Comfort food, interactive dining and casual luxury take centre stage.

  • Visual richness & immersive design

Bold colours, lavish lighting and curated spaces that feel intentional and photographable.

Glam – Vintage, I love this vibe and to be honest its always been a contender for a wedding theme year after year after year – Vintage glam is a sophisticated, nostalgic style blending elements from the glamorous eras of the 1920s-1960s(like Old Hollywood, Art Deco into fashion, beauty, and interior design, characterized by luxurious fabrics, bold makeup, elegant silhouettes, opulent decor, and metallic accents, creating a timeless, dramatic, and elegant look.

Minimalist – This doesn’t mean a small wedding, A minimalist wedding focuses on simplicity, intention, and what truly matters—your love story—by stripping away excess décor and traditions for clean lines, subtle elegance, and meaningful details, often featuring smaller guest lists, pared-back venues (like galleries or gardens), simple attire (sleek dresses, classic suits), and a focus on quality over quantity in elements like food and decor, making it timeless, budget-friendly, and personal.

DrapesDrapes offer benefits like enhancing aesthetics(hiding flaws, adding warmth/style in a rustic venue), improving comfort & function (light control, insulation, privacy, sound dampening). Defining event spaces to ensuring your personal vision can be achieved from this back drop.  In fashion, using drape design is a foundational, three-dimensional technique where fabric is directly manipulated on a dress form to create, visualize, and perfect a garment’s fit and silhouette.

Multi day celebration – Here for this vibe, literally. If your guests are travelling to your wedding and don’t live locally they will already be in the area for a few days no doubt making the most of the time. Multi celebrations offer more quality time with guests, reduce stress by spreading out events, allow for deeper cultural expression and personal style, create an immersive guest experience, and capture more diverse memories, transforming a single rushed day into a relaxed, shared adventure for everyone. They provide flexibility for intimate moments and elaborate cultural rituals, making the celebration more meaningful and less pressured than a traditional single-day event.

Day 1 – I like the idea of having an evening event, just a relaxed grazing table set up so you can work the room and really spend time with your guests, use this event to do the speeches, give gifts and have your father daughter dance. This event is a family event

Day 2 The main day – well that’s all about the couple, actually getting married spending time with your partner and have a party with all the focus on the love of the couple

Day 3 Brunch – this is a fun way to decompress and say your thank yous and goodbyes. You could leave thank you cards out for guests (saves posting), have them sign the guest book and cut the cake so they have a snack for toe road home

Multiple outfits – Multiple events require multiple outfits right! So fun!

Food – Sustainable food seasonal menus – this is a no brainer for us – Read here for more on this topic (NOM,NOM)

Long cakes – A long wedding cake—often referred to as a sheet cake, slab cake, or “runner” cake—is an emerging, modern vibe for 2026 and 2027. It offers a more laid-back, visually striking alternative to traditional tiered cakes. You can have real fun with Long cakes which can span the length of a table, are designed for maximum impact and, on average, provide 40 generous portions for every foot of length.

Photo walls – Wedding photo walls create an engaging guest experiences, personalizing decor, telling your love story, and providing instant entertainment through interactive displays or photo booths, while also offering a beautiful focal point and tangible memories for the couple to enjoy at home later. They serve as a stunning backdrop, encourage social sharing, and can be customised to match your theme, making the event more memorable and interactive for everyone.

Scarfs – it’s back, designers are dusting of their 90’s patten cuttings and adding this back on the table – it’s a love or hate vibe

Entertainment – Get personal with this, what do you love to be entertained by and share it with your guest. Wedding entertainment is a crucial element that transforms a standard reception into a memorable, high-energy, and personalized experience. It keeps guests engaged, and fosters a celebratory atmosphere.

Customise – all these vibes you bring to your wedding will customise your event making it personal and meaningful to you as a couple and the collaboration of 2 families becoming one.
