Accessories with Alison
Whether it’s a veil, tiara, a belt or a funky headband, I just love an accessory. Our dresses are absolutely beautiful, but sometimes that added extra just elevates a gown to the next level. A bit of bling in the form of a pretty belt, glitter veil or hair slide can just transform you into a bride!
I’m currently obsessed with chunky headbands and big bows, in-fact, a big statement bow is quickly becoming my trademark! I have one in a multitude of colours, but it’s the ivory version that has captured the imagination of our brides-to-be. I’ve found that they are opting for a band or bow for the hen party for that extra something to say “I’m the bride”, but when it comes to the wedding day, tiaras are still our superstars! So many times a bride will insist that she is not really a ‘tiara person’ but as soon as one is placed on her head, all that goes out the window!
Veils are still very popular with contrasting preferences from a simple single tier piece to a huge cathedral length with lace edging. Really there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to how you want to accessorise, but it’s always a good idea to try a few accessories when you’re seeking your dream dress. My current favourite is a two tier classically simple veil by Richards Designs, it just goes so beautifully with every dress!
