Arnos Vale is a 45 acre site, which was established in 1839 as a Victorian “Arcadian” garden cemetery and now combines heritage, remembrance and celebration by using the beautiful space for many other purposes other than it was first intended. A regeneration project first saw the restoration of the former crematorium, which is now known as the Spielman Education Centre. There are no longer any cremations on the site, but the Arnos Vale Trust still honour existing burial rights. A large part of the cemetery is now a protected ecological woodland and meadow, with many different species of wildlife.
